How it started
Two growers. One conviction.
Purple State Cannabis was founded by two growers who spent years watching the cannabis industry grow everywhere but here — and who believed that when legalization finally came to the North Star State, it deserved to be done right.
We're not investors. We're not a brand spun up to capitalize on a market. We're growers — people who have spent years learning the plant, understanding its chemistry, and developing the patience that small-batch cultivation demands.
When Minnesota passed Chapter 342 and created the microbusiness license, we saw exactly what we'd been waiting for: a legal framework designed for people like us. Small. Accountable. Local.

We publish our cultivation methods, our inputs, and our testing results. If you're putting something in your body — or recommending it to a patient — you deserve to know exactly what it is and how it was grown.

We could grow more. We choose not to. Staying small means every plant gets the attention it needs. It means we can catch problems early, adjust in real time, and never sacrifice quality for volume.

Our inputs are sourced locally where possible. Our employees are Minnesotans. Our customers are our neighbors. We believe a cannabis microbusiness should function like any other good local business — embedded in the community it serves.

Purple State Cannabis is named for what Minnesota is — a state that doesn't fit neatly into one box. We think that's something to be proud of. We're not trying to be anything other than exactly what we are: a small, honest cannabis business doing good work in a place we love.
